[1] Open Regedit [Start - Run - Regedit {type 'regedit' on the search bar of 'Run' and click on the 'OK' button}] and navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Shell Icons.
[2] In the right-pane, create a new String value [right-click and choose 'New', then click on the option named 'String Value'] named "29".
[3] Double-click on '29' and set its 'Value data' to:
C:\Windows\System32\shell32.dll,50.
[4] Close The 'Registry Editor'.
[5] Now, Right-click on your 'Desktop', choose 'Properties', Click the 'Appearance' Tab.
Click on the 'Advanced' button.
Choose 'Icon' from the drop-down list and Set it's size to 31 and press 'OK'.
The changes will be applied now and You will have your 'Desktop' without 'Shortcut' Arrow.
